Vobile and UNN Partner to Build AI Infrastructure in Brunei

Against the backdrop of Brunei’s Tungku Submarine Cable Landing Station, Vobile and Unified National Networks have finalized a strategic partnership to construct advanced AI factories. The agreement, signed September 3, aims to catalyze the nation's digital economy by integrating high-density computing power with specialized creative content protection technology.

The collaboration centers on a new AI-capable data center operated by UNN, which is engineered with liquid cooling to house NVIDIA’s latest GPU systems. Under the terms of the agreement, 25MW of capacity is immediately allocated to Vobile, with an additional 25MW reserved for future expansion. This infrastructure will serve as the backbone for Vobile’s DreamMaker platform, an AI-driven suite designed to assist film studios and independent creators in video production, intellectual property protection, and automated revenue generation.

Heiko Trost, Chief Digital Officer of UNN, described the deal as a departure from standard provider-client relationships, framing it as a long-term commitment to Brunei’s digital capabilities. Ben Smith, Executive Vice President of Vobile, echoed this sentiment, emphasizing that the partnership is intended to position Brunei as a leading AI hub in Southeast Asia. By leveraging local network infrastructure alongside Silicon Valley-developed AI tools, the companies intend to scale operations to meet the rising demand from global entertainment firms and content creators.
