Fosun International Achieves Record AA+ Hang Seng Sustainability Rating

Fosun International has reached a milestone in its environmental, social, and governance trajectory, with the Hang Seng Indexes Company elevating the group’s sustainability rating to AA+. This upgrade follows three consecutive years at the AA- level, solidifying the firm’s position among the top 10% of Hong Kong-listed companies in key ESG metrics.

The latest assessment, conducted by the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency, highlights Fosun’s performance across corporate governance, environmental impact, consumer relations, and community development. Beyond the Hang Seng benchmarks, the group has secured a AAA rating under the MSCI ESG 5.0 methodology and maintained its status in the FTSE4Good Index Series for five years running. These recognitions reflect a broader strategic shift within the company, which now ties long-term operational decision-making and risk management directly to sustainability benchmarks.

Fosun is currently accelerating its alignment with China’s national carbon peaking and neutrality goals. By integrating these environmental targets into its industrial ecosystem, the group aims to bolster long-term resilience. The publication of its fourth Climate Information Disclosures Report this year underscores an attempt to increase transparency regarding climate-related risks, a move that distinguishes its current governance framework from previous years.
