Wooree Group CEO Calls for Global Standards in Liposome Supplementation

During Vitafoods Asia 2026, Wooree Group CEO Ji-yong Yoon challenged the nutraceutical industry to move beyond superficial marketing claims. He argued that the rapid proliferation of liposomal products lacks objective scientific rigor, proposing a mandatory six-pillar validation framework to ensure actual bioavailability and gastrointestinal stability for consumer safety.

The Bangkok event marked Wooree Group's second consecutive appearance, where the company showcased its end-to-end bio ecosystem, spanning from raw ingredient production through Wooree Green Science to consumer-facing brands like Harutin. The group’s booth earned the Silver Award at the Sustainability Booth Design Awards for its focus on waste reduction and reusable materials.

Yoon’s critique focused on the current market tendency to label products as "liposomal" based solely on the presence of phospholipids or basic particle size measurements. To counter this, he introduced the "Six Pillars" framework. This protocol requires verification of liposome structure via Cryo-TEM, NTA analysis for concentration, encapsulation efficiency, shelf-life integrity, gastrointestinal durability, and formal pharmacokinetic evaluation.

Implementing these metrics, the group has developed its LIPOPRIME ingredient line, which includes 40 formulations such as glutathione and omega-3. Internal NTA analysis indicates that these ingredients achieve particle concentrations up to 24 times higher than competing products. As the company pushes into the United States via Amazon and targets further growth across Southeast Asia, the leadership intends to position this validation-first approach as a competitive necessity in the global nutraceutical landscape.
