Universal Music Group Finalizes €250 Million Share Buyback

Universal Music Group has concluded its €250 million share buyback program, marking the final stage of a capital allocation strategy initiated in early August. Between August 31 and September 4, the Hilversum-based music giant acquired 294,340 shares, effectively exhausting the authorized budget for the current initiative.

The final week of activity saw the company spend approximately €4.3 million at an average price of €14.65 per share. These transactions bring the cumulative total to 16,552,027 shares repurchased since the program began on August 6, 2026. The total expenditure for the entire project stands at €249,999,946, leaving the company's buyback mandate fully satisfied.

Universal Music Group, listed on Euronext under the ticker UMG, has maintained public transparency throughout the process by publishing weekly aggregated data on its investor relations portal. This program was executed in compliance with the European Union's Market Abuse Regulation, ensuring all disclosures met the required reporting standards for listed entities.
