Computacenter Shares Jump on AI-Driven Profit Surge

Shares in London-listed Computacenter climbed 2.9% to 57.60 pounds this morning after the technology provider raised its full-year profit outlook. Driven by aggressive expansion in North America and a spike in artificial intelligence demand, the firm now anticipates adjusted pretax profits exceeding 380 million pounds for the year.

This projection sits well above the company-compiled consensus of 340.9 million pounds, prompting analysts at J.P. Morgan to anticipate double-digit upgrades to current market forecasts. The optimism follows a strong first half, where revenue jumped to 6.845 billion pounds from 3.99 billion, while adjusted operating profit nearly doubled to 153.1 million pounds.

North American operations served as the primary engine for this performance, now accounting for over 60% of the group’s adjusted operating profit. The business secured gains across its hyperscale, neocloud, and enterprise segments, contributing to a substantial product order backlog of 9.3 billion pounds as of June 30. With year-to-date share prices having already doubled, the latest guidance confirms a sustained period of growth for the FTSE 100 firm.
