The investment focuses on scaling production by integrating established semiconductor processes into quantum hardware. Quantinuum CEO Dr. Rajeeb Hazra noted the funding validates the company’s architecture and provides the necessary foundation to secure U.S. leadership in the sector. To meet these goals, the company is expanding its domestic manufacturing footprint through strategic partnerships.
GlobalFoundries will serve as a primary foundry, utilizing 300mm wafer technology to fabricate next-generation ion traps and control electronics. Simultaneously, Monarch Quantum will spearhead the development of standardized, high-reliability lasers and integrated photonics engines. By shifting away from complex, custom optical setups toward industrialized, repeatable components, the coalition aims to resolve the hardware bottlenecks currently hindering large-scale quantum deployment.
