Opened in August 2026, the lab leverages data from over 100 million past property claims to replicate the most frequent residential disasters. Rather than relying on classroom theory, adjusters spend their time crawling through cutaway wall sections and examining hidden structural damage caused by water, fire, or hail. The goal is to bridge the gap between initial assessment and final repair.
Mike Fiato, Allstate’s chief claims officer, emphasizes that the facility is designed to build empathy through expertise. By practicing on everything from standard-grade cabinetry to high-end finishes, adjusters learn to identify how damage travels behind ceilings and floors. The integration of interactive digital tools alongside physical damage demonstrations ensures that when a real homeowner faces a crisis, the person on the other side of the claim has already seen the damage before.
