Jersey Mike’s Faces First Earnings Test After Blackstone-Backed IPO

With shares trading at $20.85, Jersey Mike’s Subs prepares to report its inaugural quarterly results this Wednesday. Investors are looking for evidence that the sandwich chain can translate its $8 billion market valuation into sustained growth following its public debut, as the company navigates a transition toward younger demographics.

Analysts polled by FactSet anticipate second-quarter net income of $35.6 million, with adjusted earnings hitting 22 cents per share on roughly $208.7 million in revenue. Same-store sales, a critical metric for the chain, are projected to rise 2.3%. These figures mark the first public look at the company’s performance since Blackstone acquired a majority stake for $6 billion and steered the brand through its July IPO.

Beyond the headline numbers, the company faces a significant demographic hurdle. Current data shows that Gen X and Boomers represent 70% of the customer base, while Gen Z accounts for only 2%. To bridge this gap, management is pivoting away from traditional television advertising in favor of Instagram and TikTok. UBS analysts, who initiated coverage with a buy rating and a $28 price target, argue that the chain remains a unique asset. They expect menu innovation and digital delivery expansion to sustain growth, projecting a 10% revenue increase annually over the next decade as the brand attempts to scale from 3,300 locations to a global footprint of 15,000.
