The company reported that over 160 stablecoin-linked card programs now operate on its network, experiencing a 200% year-over-year surge in payment volume. This growth is mirrored by a massive rise in settlement activity, which has reached an annualized run rate exceeding $20 billion—a fifteenfold increase compared to the previous year.
By granting lenders access to real-time transaction flows, Visa intends to provide the transparency necessary for automated, onchain capital deployment. Rubail Birwadker, head of growth products, noted that aligning payment data with smart contracts enables liquidity solutions better suited to the velocity of modern finance. Credit Coop has already deployed this model, utilizing smart contracts to streamline settlement financing and collateral oversight for its card programs.
