Penn Station Sandwiches Launches Annual Down Syndrome Fundraiser

Customers at Penn Station Sandwiches can now exchange a $5 donation for a coupon booklet containing over $30 in savings, as the chain kicks off its annual campaign to support Down Syndrome Associations nationwide. The company pledges to match every dollar contributed by guests, doubling the total impact of the fundraiser.

The initiative, which has surpassed $2 million in total contributions over the years, provides participants with four distinct offers: a free small sub, a free kid’s meal, a free regular drink with small fries, and a buy-one-get-one-free sandwich deal. These coupons remain valid for in-store, online, and app-based redemptions through March 21, 2027, coinciding with National Down Syndrome Awareness Day.

Founder Jeff Osterfeld highlighted that while the financial milestone is significant, the primary goal remains supporting individuals with Down syndrome and their families through local programming and advocacy. Proceeds from the booklets stay within the communities where the restaurants operate, directly funding resources provided by local associations. Beth Smith, Executive Director of the Down Syndrome Association of Greater Cincinnati, noted that the long-standing partnership serves as both a vital revenue stream for local programs and a platform for increasing public awareness.
