While the legal entity will remain Novo Nordisk A/S, the shift toward a leaner brand identity coincides with the introduction of a new cultural framework dubbed 'The Novo Way'. Management has pinned this internal reset on four core pillars: customer obsession, competitiveness, clarity, and a renewed commitment to care and integrity. This cultural overhaul is intended to stabilize the company's trajectory as it struggles to maintain its momentum in the high-stakes obesity drug market.
Operational challenges have recently clouded the firm’s commercial performance. Despite leading Eli Lilly in U.S. prescriptions for its oral GLP-1 therapy, the company has been hampered by clinical failures, most notably the recent decision to abandon two late-stage trials for the experimental heart medication ziltivekimab. Investors are now looking toward the upcoming Capital Markets Day on September 21 for a clearer roadmap on how the company intends to reconcile its market-leading prescription volumes with its current pipeline instability.
