The demonstration, broadcast via ZORO’s X and YouTube channels, marks the company's first major public appearance before its retail application launches this fall. During the event in Palm Springs, CEO Chris Hnatko intends to show how the platform allows traders to input setups in plain English, converting them into automated agents that execute trades independently of human presence. Unlike traditional copy-trading models that mirror individual manual trades, ZORO’s engine uses algorithms to manage accounts continuously, ensuring strategies remain active even while the creator is offline.
Hnatko, who previously founded Spartan Trading, argues that relying on real-time chatbot decision-making is a security and performance risk. Instead, the ZORO platform focuses on algorithmic execution, mirroring the infrastructure used by institutional firms. CFO James Kim noted that the core challenge involved building institutional-grade broker connections and billing systems that allow thousands of users to operate a single trader's strategy within their own individual accounts. With a leadership team that includes veterans from Tinder and high-scale consumer apps, the company is positioning itself to capture a market that prioritizes proven, rules-based alpha over automated backtesting.
