Inolex Launches Coconut-Derived Sensory Enhancer for Skin and Fragrance

Philadelphia-based ingredient designer Inolex has introduced SustOleo™ Embrace, a multifunctional sensory enhancer aimed at the beauty and personal care market. Derived from coconuts, the ingredient is designed to replace traditional silicones while improving skin texture and locking in fragrance for as long as 20 hours.

The new technology transitions from a lightweight oil into a cushiony, non-greasy finish on the skin. Company testing indicates that a serum containing 7.5% of the ingredient improves skin scaliness by 33% and smoothness by 30% after a single application. Beyond skincare benefits, the substance serves as a stabilizer for fragrances, significantly reducing the loss of volatile compounds like d-Limonene during shelf storage.

Art Knox, President of Inolex, noted that the product addresses a common industry challenge where brands traditionally rely on three or more ingredients to achieve the same sensory and performance outcomes. The material is 85% natural, palm-free, and vegan, positioning it as a sustainable alternative to dimethicone. With a Natural Origin Index of 0.85, the company expects the additive to meet growing consumer demand for high-performance, silicone-free formulations in body and skin care.
