Peter Federico, the company's president and CEO, described the inclusion as a major milestone that validates the firm's scale and its long-term strategy of focusing on Agency mortgage-backed securities. By joining the MidCap 400, the company will also become a constituent of the S&P Composite 1500, the S&P 900, and the S&P 1000 indices.

Since its founding in 2008, the mortgage REIT has acted as a primary source of private capital for the U.S. housing market. The firm manages a portfolio of Agency MBS assets backed by Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, or Ginnie Mae, and has distributed over $16 billion in common stock dividends to shareholders since its inception.
