M&L Precision Machining Faces Class Action Lawsuit Over Wage Violations

The litigation, filed by San Francisco-based firm Blumenthal Nordrehaug Bhowmik De Blouw LLP, centers on claims that the defendant exercised control over workers without providing proper compensation. Under California labor statutes, employers are required to pay for all time during which staff remain under company control, a mandate the lawsuit claims M&L Precision Machining consistently ignored. By allegedly requiring staff to perform duties off the clock, the company purportedly bypassed minimum wage and overtime obligations defined under California Labor Code sections 1194, 1197, and 1197.1.

Beyond unpaid labor, the complaint highlights deficiencies in payroll documentation. California Labor Code section 226 requires employers to furnish precise itemized wage statements reflecting all hours worked and pay periods earned. The filing contends that the defendant failed to include these critical details for hourly employees, obscuring the true nature of their compensation. The case, identified as 26CV500471, remains pending as the firm seeks to address these alleged employment practices.
