Hu brings over 25 years of experience in global technology and business transformation to the role. Before his time at Lenovo, where he served as senior vice president and global chief information officer for the Solutions and Services Group, he spent more than a decade as an advisor at McKinsey & Company. His background focuses on integrating digital capabilities into core business operations, a skillset BD leadership intends to leverage to modernize its enterprise and embed artificial intelligence into its internal workflows.

Tom Polen, chairman, CEO and president of BD, noted that Hu’s appointment is intended to strengthen the company’s position as technology becomes central to healthcare delivery. Hu succeeds Denise Russell Fleming, who is slated to retire from the organization at the end of 2026. This transition marks a shift in BD's executive strategy as the company seeks to increase productivity and connectivity across its global operations.
