The new Maplewood store serves as a cornerstone for the company's growth across the Midwest. Eric van der Valk, President and CEO of Ollie's, noted that the expansion reflects a strong customer appetite for the retailer's discount model, which typically prices goods up to 70% below traditional retail outlets. The company has maintained its focus on closeout merchandise and excess inventory since its founding in 1982.
To commemorate the 700-store achievement, the donation will stock a new book nook at Gillette Children's. Elizabeth Riehl, a development officer for the Children's Miracle Network at the hospital, highlighted the impact of the contribution on patient families. The official opening begins at 9 a.m. on Thursday, featuring representatives from the hospital and the retail chain.
