The government confirmed that all validly submitted tenders for the 2027 notes were accepted without proration, as the total purchase price of $1,393,840,393.75 fell within the established maximum. Investors participating in the buyback are set to receive a purchase price of $1,006.25 per $1,000 in principal, supplemented by accrued and unpaid interest. Settlement for the repurchased debt is scheduled for September 28, 2026.
This debt management move is contingent upon the concurrent closing of the newly priced 2039 bonds. Proceeds from this fresh issuance are earmarked specifically to cover the cost of the existing bond retirement. Citigroup Global Markets and J.P. Morgan Securities acted as dealer managers for the exchange, with Global Bondholder Services Corporation serving as the information agent.
