Abra and Fireblocks Integrate Qualified Custody for Tokenized Assets

Abra has expanded its partnership with Fireblocks to launch an institutional-grade custody solution for tokenized investment strategies. The integration automatically routes strategy tokens issued by AbraFi Ltd. into the custody of Fireblocks Trust Company, a NYDFS-regulated entity designed to meet strict SEC compliance and fiduciary mandates.

The new architecture streamlines the lifecycle of synthetic assets, which utilize smart contracts to execute yield-generating trading strategies. By moving these tokens into Fireblocks Trust Company’s qualified custody, Abra aims to bridge the gap between complex decentralized finance workflows and the regulatory requirements expected by institutional wealth management clients. The system ensures that assets are held within a separately managed account structure, maintaining dual-control protocols and legal oversight throughout the investment period.

This workflow connects Abra’s wealth management platform directly with AbraFi Ltd.’s minting infrastructure and Fireblocks’ secure custody workspaces. According to Daryl Puryear, Chief Technology Officer at Abra, the move establishes a new standard for secure digital asset management by automating compliance without sacrificing investment innovation. Adam Levine, CEO at Fireblocks Financial Services, noted that the specialized custody model is essential as capital moves into tokenized real-world assets, providing a regulated environment for assets that previously lacked such infrastructure. The integration supports Abra Capital Management, LP in meeting its SEC regulatory obligations while providing clients with institutional-grade security for their digital holdings.
