Jiaozhou hosts over 15,000 industrial enterprises, the highest concentration for its tier in Shandong Province. Rather than keeping these facilities behind closed doors, local authorities are encouraging firms to integrate tourism into their business models. This shift allows companies to showcase their scale while diversifying revenue streams through interactive visitor experiences.
At the Qingdao Dengta Flavoring and Food Co., visitors walk through a 120-year history of traditional brewing. The experience includes a condiment-themed museum where guests sample soy sauce and vinegar-flavored ice cream, turning a standard condiment factory into a cultural touchpoint. The site now hosts over 100 events annually, drawing roughly 1,200 visitors each month.
Technological curiosity drives traffic to other sites, such as the Liqun Group’s smart logistics base. Here, the focus shifts to efficiency, with visitors observing automated 3D vision systems and massive cold-chain facilities from specialized observation corridors. By linking industrial tours to local catering and agricultural services, the city is creating a ripple effect that connects primary production with tertiary service sectors, reinforcing the brand identity of 'Made in Jiaozhou.'
