The expansion marks a significant growth phase for the Philadelphia-based brand, which launched in 2024 and currently ranks as the sixth-largest hummus producer among 129 tracked brands. The new products join the existing Hummus Schug, rounding out a trio of toppings designed to be swirled into their flagship tehina-heavy base. Each 10 oz container retails for $7.99 and maintains the brand’s commitment to a six-ingredient recipe featuring chickpeas, lemon juice, salt, cumin, garlic, and roasted tehina.
Beyond the national Whole Foods footprint, the brand is deepening its presence in regional markets. Bristol Farms in Southern California now carries all four product variants, while Giant stores in the Mid-Atlantic region are increasing their shelf space to include the new spicy additions. Harris Teeter and McCaffrey's Markets have also expanded their inventory, reflecting the brand’s rapid trajectory since its debut. By utilizing a tehina-forward process—using four times the amount of premium roasted tehina compared to standard market options—the founders aim to replicate the specific texture and profile that made their Michelin-recommended Zahav restaurant a destination for nearly two decades.
