Ardelyx Executives Face Class Action Over Revenue Forecasts

Investors have initiated a securities class action against Ardelyx, Inc. and four top executives, alleging the company misrepresented the commercial potential of its drugs XPHOZAH and IBSRELA. The lawsuit claims that while leadership projected $1.75 billion in peak sales, they failed to disclose significant insurance access barriers.

The legal action, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, covers shareholders who purchased Ardelyx securities between January 13, 2025, and August 6, 2026. The complaint specifically targets President and CEO Michael Raab, current CFO Susan Hohenleitner, former CFO Justin Renz, and Chief Commercial Officer Eric Foster. Plaintiffs argue these individuals held direct authority over SEC filings and public statements that promised aggressive growth despite mounting utilization-management hurdles that restricted new patient starts.

Financial fallout from these disclosures triggered an 18% drop in Ardelyx stock on August 6, 2026, following the company’s decision to slash its IBSRELA revenue guidance and withdraw long-term projections for XPHOZAH. Beyond standard securities fraud claims, the lawsuit invokes Section 20(a) of the Exchange Act, seeking to hold these specific officers personally accountable for the alleged misleading disclosures. Investors seeking to participate as lead plaintiffs in the case have until November 16, 2026, to apply.
