The system represents a collaboration between Shenzhen Enhanced Power Technology and LimX Dynamics, merging the TENNIIX PRO AI training software with the TRON 2 wheeled-leg mobility platform. Unlike traditional ball machines, this robot functions without external sensors, using onboard perception to track ball trajectory, spin, and player movement. It responds to voice commands and adjusts its output in real-time, tailoring shot patterns based on the quality of a player's returns.
LimX Dynamics provides the hardware foundation, allowing the unit to move multidirectionally and adjust its delivery height between 1.2 and 1.6 meters. This mobility mimics the unpredictable court positioning of a human partner, aiming to push players beyond the limitations of preset drills. The developers intend to deploy the technology in tennis clubs to address the common challenge of finding suitable practice partners. Following its debut at the Billie Jean King Cup, the robot is scheduled for exhibition at upcoming APEC meetings to demonstrate the practical integration of embodied AI in sports.
