At Artemis, he will collaborate with co-founder William Muecke and Managing Partner E. Stanton McLean. His mandate covers capital formation, business development, and strengthening relationships with institutional investors, including family offices and private equity firms.

The appointment arrives as the global medical cannabis industry pivots toward greater regulatory scrutiny and corporate governance. Muecke noted that Hayward’s experience is essential as financing needs become increasingly sophisticated. For his part, Hayward emphasized the disconnect between the industry's rapid scientific development and the lingering stigma that keeps many traditional investors on the sidelines. Artemis currently manages over $300 million in discretionary assets and seeks to leverage Hayward’s background to formalize its position in emerging therapeutic markets.
