The deal follows a successful trial run where Reinert Logistics deployed an initial fleet of 50 Volvo gas-powered units. According to company founder René Reinert, the decision was driven by the operational efficiency of the vehicles and the ability to utilize locally sourced fuel derived from organic waste and manure. Volvo’s service network and the performance of the trucks in daily use served as critical factors in securing the expansion.

Volvo Trucks has now delivered over 10,000 gas-powered vehicles globally, with demand surging as markets prioritize CO2 reductions. The FH Aero models, capable of traveling up to 1,000 kilometers on a single tank, offer a viable path toward decarbonization for heavy-duty transport. With bio-LNG accounting for nearly 98.5 percent of fuel sold at German LNG stations in 2025, the transition provides a cost-effective alternative for operators navigating tax incentives and renewable energy mandates.
