Wenseleers brings over 15 years of sector experience to the new role. Since joining the firm in 2018, he has acted as Managing Director for Business Development and Head of East Africa, where he managed operations and assets in Kenya. His track record includes the successful financial close of the 52 MWp Malindi Solar project and the 35 MW Menengai geothermal project. He also spearheaded the acquisition of Norfund’s 51% stake in the Lunsemfwa Hydro Power Company in Zambia.

Before his tenure at Globeleq, Wenseleers spent a decade at ENGIE, developing major energy infrastructure in Morocco and establishing the firm’s Nairobi-based East Africa operations. CEO Jonathan Hoffman cited Wenseleers' ability to navigate complex markets as the primary driver for the promotion. Globeleq currently manages 1,660 MW of generation capacity across seven African nations, with an additional 2,000 MW in various stages of development.
