This discovery paved the way for her later work in the 1970s, where she refined IVF techniques by integrating hormonal therapies that significantly increased success rates. Her clinical protocols were instrumental in the 1981 birth of Elizabeth Carr, the first American IVF infant.

To mark her induction, the Howard and Georgeanna Jones Foundation for Reproductive Medicine is partnering with the American Society for Reproductive Medicine to launch a $100,000 grant. The Georgeanna Seegar Jones, MD, Women of the Hall Investigative Scientist Award will provide bridge funding for research aimed at advancing assisted reproductive technology. Robert W. Jones, Chairman of the Foundation, noted that the grant honors a legacy of scientific innovation that continues to drive modern reproductive medicine.
