Hitron and Airties Target SMB Connectivity Gap

Small and medium businesses often face a stark choice between low-cost residential broadband that lacks security or complex enterprise systems that are prohibitively expensive. Hitron Technologies and Airties are now bridging this divide with a new joint platform, unveiled at SCTE TechExpo26, designed to help ISPs capture this underserved market.

The collaboration integrates Hitron’s high-performance broadband gateways with Airties Pro software, aiming to provide a middle-ground solution that balances enterprise-grade reliability with the simplicity of residential hardware. By offering features like network segregation, business continuity tools, and remote troubleshooting, the platform allows ISPs to differentiate their service offerings while moving beyond basic connectivity.

According to research from the Global Technology Industry Association, the necessity for a tailored approach is clear: every SMB surveyed reported that an internet outage would cause significant revenue loss, yet many struggle to find the right balance of cost and performance. This new partnership seeks to turn that pain point into a revenue stream for service providers. By enabling remote network management and self-care features, ISPs can increase average revenue per user while simultaneously reducing operational expenses associated with manual on-site maintenance.
