The purchase order highlights a shift toward integrating specialized hydrogen technology into defense infrastructure where equipment resilience is critical. Chief Commercial Officer Todd Cartwright noted that the Wallingford team has supported these submarine applications for years, positioning the company as a key provider for mission-critical environmental controls.

This contract arrives as Nel ASA seeks to expand the reach of its proprietary PEM technology beyond commercial green hydrogen projects. By maintaining a footprint in defense, the company leverages its engineering track record to secure long-term utility in environments where operational failure is not an option.
