This commitment comes as the 14th Meeting of the India-UAE High Level Joint Task Force on Investments convenes to build on the existing $25 billion already deployed by Abu Dhabi. The long-term vision shared by Emirati officials, including ADIA managing director Sheikh Hamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, aims to reach a total of $100 billion in cumulative investments. Beyond simple capital growth, the partnership focuses on leveraging the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement to secure supply chains, particularly in logistics, food security, and advanced technology.
Energy security remains a critical pillar of this cooperation. Earlier this year, Prime Minister Narendra Modi secured agreements for liquefied petroleum gas supplies and strategic petroleum reserves during a visit to the UAE, a move designed to buffer India against regional supply shocks like those seen in the Strait of Hormuz. With bilateral trade currently at $100 billion—a figure that has doubled over the last four years—both nations have set an ambitious target to reach $200 billion in annual trade by 2032.
