Omnissa Launches Elara to Govern AI Actions in Enterprise Environments

With unsanctioned AI tools appearing on 75% of managed enterprise devices, Mountain View-based Omnissa is introducing Elara, an authority layer designed to bridge the gap between fragmented IT systems. The platform allows security leaders to monitor, authorize, and control AI agents and models before they execute high-impact actions.

As organizations shift from using AI for basic assistance to deploying autonomous agents that operate directly within business systems, traditional IT boundaries have become porous. Elara addresses this by aggregating signals across identities, devices, and applications, creating a centralized policy plane that functions above existing infrastructure. By correlating these data points with organizational permissions, the tool evaluates potential actions against established guardrails, effectively preventing unauthorized or risky processes before they trigger real-world consequences.

Currently in beta, the solution provides visibility into "shadow AI," allowing teams to discover unauthorized LLMs and agents operating in their environment. Through the Omnissa AI Gateway, administrators can manage token consumption and model access without being forced into a single vendor ecosystem. Beyond mere detection, the platform offers automated change management, where it either clears an action, imposes boundaries, or escalates it to human oversight. This creates a replayable, audit-ready record of every decision, helping enterprises maintain compliance as their digital workflows become increasingly automated.
