The current club will remain operational throughout the demolition and construction phases, which are scheduled to begin this October. This continuity reflects a two-decade partnership between the fitness chain and the local community. CEO Phil Howard emphasized that the move allows the company to grow alongside the neighborhood, maintaining service to members while the site undergoes a massive industrial transformation.
Once the development reaches completion, the chain will relocate to a new $15 million facility. This space will feature advanced strength and cardio equipment, alongside specialized recovery amenities like cold and compression therapy. The project, led by Lincoln and New York Life Real Estate, is expected to create 300 construction jobs and eventually support 1,200 full-time positions at the park. This relocation follows a broader $12 million capital investment program across Fitness Connection’s Texas markets, aimed at upgrading aging interiors and expanding recovery-focused fitness offerings.
