Aberdeen Investments Closed-End Funds Report Trustee Election Results

Shareholders of Aberdeen Investments U.S. closed-end funds gathered on September 29, 2026, to elect leadership and weigh in on portfolio policy changes. While Gordon Baird secured his position as a trustee across four funds, a proposal to formalize a fundamental investment-grade credit policy for the Multi-Market Income Fund failed to pass.

The annual meetings for the Government Markets Income Fund (MGF), Intermediate Income Fund (MIN), Multi-Market Income Fund (MMT), and Municipal Income Fund (MFM) saw high participation, with quorum levels ranging from 80.16% to 85.49% of outstanding shares. Gordon Baird was successfully elected as a trustee for each of these funds, while Nancy Yao and C. William Maher were elected as Preferred Share Directors for the Municipal Income Fund.

Despite the failure of the fundamental policy proposal at MMT—which required a higher threshold of affirmative votes under the Investment Company Act of 1940—the firm remains committed to its existing strategy. Aberdeen Investments stated it intends to continue managing the MMT portfolio under normal circumstances with an average investment-grade credit quality, maintaining the approach previously communicated to its investors.
