The shipment arrives just three months after the initial contract signing, a timeline the company attributes to its vertically integrated supply chain. These systems, destined for the Nefertiti and Horus projects, represent a shift toward large-scale standalone storage in the region. Developed by AMEA Power and constructed by China Energy Engineering Group, the facilities aim to bolster the integration of solar and wind energy, specifically targeting peak-shaving at the Zafarana wind farm and improving solar consumption at Benban.
Gotion engineered the hardware to withstand harsh environmental stressors, including extreme desert heat, sandstorms, and salt fog. By providing full integration—from in-house cells and battery management systems to transformers and power conversion units—the firm offers a high-voltage, millisecond-level response essential for grid reliability. Hussain Al Nowais, Chairman of AMEA Power, noted that the successful delivery initiates a broader phase of cooperation, with both parties currently exploring additional projects across the Middle East and Africa. Li Chen, Senior Vice President of Gotion, emphasized that this move serves as a strategic entry point into the MENA region, demonstrating the company's ability to maintain localized operations and end-to-end delivery capabilities.
