The company reported revenue of USD 8.22 billion for the first half of the year, defying traditional seasonal lulls. This performance rests on a strategic move toward high-value-added components, most notably in the substrate market. LG Innotek holds nearly 80 percent of the global market share for RF-SiP substrates among its top five clients, a dominance bolstered by its proprietary Cu-Post technology. Having expanded from mobile application processors into memory sectors, the firm is now scaling its FC-BGA production for PC CPUs and preparing to enter the AI accelerator and server markets next year. The objective is clear: pushing package solution operating profits to USD 743 million by 2031.
Simultaneously, the company is leveraging its deep optical expertise to enter the physical AI landscape. By integrating LiDAR, radar, and advanced camera modules, LG Innotek is positioning itself as a total solution provider for autonomous driving and robotics. Strategic partnerships with firms like Applied Intuition, Boston Dynamics, and Japan’s TDK underscore this transition. The company has already begun mass-producing camera modules for humanoid robots at its Paju facility, aiming for these new growth engines to comprise 25 percent of total revenue by 2030.
