Servier Standardizes Global Data to Power AI Initiatives

Facing an industry-wide failure rate where 89% of AI initiatives stall due to fragmented information, French pharmaceutical giant Servier is pivoting to a unified architecture. By adopting Veeva OpenData across more than 80 countries, the company aims to replace isolated data silos with a single, AI-ready foundation for commercial execution.

The move builds upon Servier’s existing integration with Veeva Link Key People, creating a consistent semantic layer for its global medical and commercial teams. According to Liam Hanrahan, director of world operations excellence at Servier, the centralization is intended to provide affiliates with high-quality insights necessary to reach healthcare professionals more effectively in diverse markets.

Kilian Weiss, president of Link and OpenData at Veeva, noted that the initiative marks a shift toward a data-first philosophy required for successful automation. By harmonizing customer reference data into the Veeva Data Cloud, Servier positions itself to move beyond fragmented internal systems, facilitating the consistency needed to scale advanced analytics across its international footprint.
