The contract allows any Department of War entity to procure the Unified Defense Stack (UDS) Enterprise and UDS Fleet platforms directly. UDS Enterprise provides hardened runtimes and cyber services designed for cloud, on-premises, and tactical edge settings, while UDS Fleet offers a centralized control plane for managing software updates across large-scale distributed systems.

Rob Slaughter, co-founder and CEO of Defense Unicorns, stated that the agreement marks a shift toward on-demand commercial technology acquisition. By removing the need for new competitions for every requirement, the vehicle aims to eliminate the friction between mission speed and security protocols. The company, founded in 2021, already maintains a footprint within the U.S. Navy, Air Force, and Space Force, with its software currently supporting over 100 mission systems.
