Since its inception in 2006, the initiative has provided over 27,000 masks to emergency crews. The program addresses a critical equipment gap, as pets often hide during fires rather than fleeing, which complicates rescue efforts. By partnering with Pawprint Oxygen, the company is now distributing updated kits that include small, medium, and large masks designed to fit animals ranging from cats to large-breed dogs.

The refreshed equipment features PureVent® technology, which uses a tri-vent design to reduce carbon dioxide rebreathing by 80 percent compared to standard models. These kits include oxygen tubing compatible with existing fire truck and ambulance hardware, alongside "no-pull" snout openings intended for quick application during high-stress incidents.

Local Invisible Fence dealers are currently coordinating donations with various fire departments, including those in Naperville, Illinois, and several jurisdictions across Indiana and Ohio. Executive General Manager John Butrim noted that the program remains central to the company’s mission of pet safety. First responder organizations interested in receiving these kits can submit requests through the company’s website, where eligibility is reviewed based on community need and regional coverage.
