These resources provide a critical buffer as Connecticut Foodshare navigates a landscape of rising operational expenses and increasing costs for families across the state. Currently, roughly 1 in 7 Connecticut residents, including 137,000 children, experience food insecurity.

Jason Jakubowski, President and CEO of Connecticut Foodshare, emphasized that the partnership extends beyond immediate relief. By combining financial contributions with volunteer hours, the collaboration helps the nonprofit maintain its network of 450 agency partners and 100 mobile pantries. For PMI U.S., the effort aligns with their corporate strategy to engage directly with local needs. Lisa Rechsteiner, Director of Civil Society at the firm, noted that the work serves as a tangible way for employees to address the systemic challenges of hunger in their own neighborhoods.
