The expansion centers on The Sisters, a Leader card featuring Shao and Raizan that merges Water’s board control with Lightning’s weapon-focused mechanics. This dual-element capability allows players to pair the duo with any of the six Water and Lightning Gates released across the game's first two sets. According to CEO Alex Q. Xu, the goal is to provide veteran players with new experimental territory while maintaining an accessible entry point for newcomers.
Beyond the tactical shifts, the 163-card set emphasizes collectibility with the debut of the Color Variant rarity, alongside 20 alternate-art cards and three Portrait Rares. The retail launch includes four elemental starter decks, standard booster boxes, and a new Relic Hunter Box format containing six packs and two promo cards. This release follows the growth of the game's competitive scene, which recently saw its first regional tournament in Pasadena expand capacity to 384 players to meet demand. The development of the organized-play program continues to track toward the 2027 Azuki TCG Nationals.
