As AI agents proliferate across corporate infrastructure, securing their movement remains a critical challenge for IT departments. Elisity intends to leverage its expertise in microsegmentation to help the Alliance develop common frameworks for identifying agents, defining their scope, and enforcing security boundaries. By integrating identity and risk context, the company aims to move beyond siloed protection toward a model where disparate security tools can communicate and act in concert.
Elisity CEO James Winebrenner emphasized the necessity of consistent policies as agents traverse various provider platforms. The initiative targets three primary security pillars: establishing least-privilege access for sanctioned agents, coordinating rapid containment to prevent lateral movement, and detecting unauthorized AI deployments. Industry advisers, including MultiCare Health System CISO Jason Elrod and former Waco CIO Mike Searight, noted that these open standards are vital for sectors like healthcare and public administration, where operational safety relies on the ability to monitor and restrict machine-speed access.
