The rescue team pulled 12 dogs, 10 cats and kittens, a rabbit, and a goat from filthy, confined spaces where many had been chained or left emaciated. One dog, named Joleen, required immediate hospitalization for a battery of life-threatening conditions, including heartworm, severe anemia, and fluid buildup in her abdomen. She currently remains under intensive veterinary care as the organization works to document evidence for the ongoing criminal investigation.
Tim Woodward, executive director of the nonprofit, noted that the scene reflected years of suffering. The rescued animals are now undergoing rehabilitation, though many require extensive medical treatment before they can be transitioned to long-term shelter partners. The organization continues to provide support for local law enforcement, filling gaps in resources for communities unable to manage large-scale abuse cases on their own.
