Li-Fire Scales Battery Safety Access Amid Rising National Fire Risks

With lithium-ion battery incidents surging by up to 70% in some states this year, Palm Beach-based Li-Fire is expanding its wholesale and distribution network nationwide. The move aims to provide industrial-strength suppression tools to sectors ranging from logistics and aviation to military operations as regulatory pressure on battery safety mounts.

The company’s decision to broaden its reach follows a successful East Coast pilot program. By opening its supply chain to a wider array of fire safety equipment providers, Li-Fire intends to help organizations integrate fire blankets, storage bags, and specialized suppression products directly into their operational workflows. Founder Bricen Miller noted that the expansion is designed to help businesses scale safety protocols in tandem with their growth, while also assisting clients in accessing federal and state fire safety grants.

Data from the National Fire Protection Association underscores the urgency, projecting over 5,200 annual lithium-ion incidents across the U.S. As industries navigate the transition to energy storage systems and electric industrial equipment, the risk of thermal runaway has become a primary concern for facility managers. Founded in 2023, Li-Fire has positioned itself as a technical leader by securing certifications such as ISO9001 and EN1869, aiming to standardize protection measures in high-stakes environments.
