The device serves as a specialized addition to the company's ultrasound-guided portfolio, arriving as healthcare facilities seek more reliable tools for extended therapy. By incorporating multi-access blood control, the catheter maintains stability during repeated hub connections, allowing staff to streamline workflows without introducing extra procedural steps. This design focus addresses the specific challenges of difficult venous access (DIVA) cases where conventional catheters often underperform.
Tyra Swavely, Group Product Director for Vascular Access, noted that the product provides a new option for clinicians managing complex patient needs. The launch coincides with the introduction of the Peripheral Advantage plus Program, an initiative aimed at improving device selection and clinical competency. B. Braun plans to showcase the new catheter and its accompanying educational resources at the AVA Scientific Meeting in Grapevine, Texas, this October.
