Karyopharm Therapeutics Issues New Employee Stock Inducement

Newton-based Karyopharm Therapeutics granted 333 restricted stock units to a newly hired employee on September 30, 2026. The award serves as a material inducement for the recruit to join the pharmaceutical firm, which specializes in nuclear export inhibition therapies for cancer treatment, under Nasdaq Listing Rule 5635(c)(4).

The equity package follows a three-year vesting schedule. One-third of the units will vest on each of the three consecutive anniversaries of the grant date, provided the recipient maintains continuous service with the company. This incentive structure is managed under Karyopharm’s 2022 Inducement Stock Incentive Plan, which allows for the issuance of equity to attract new talent.

Karyopharm currently focuses on the development of XPOVIO, a first-in-class inhibitor of exportin 1 used for treating relapsed or refractory multiple myeloma. Beyond its commercialized portfolio, the company is researching the application of next-generation compounds like eltanexor for myeloproliferative neoplasms.
