The 2026 'Best Scream for Your Buck' list highlights venues where artistry meets adrenaline. In Pontiac, Michigan, the Erebus Haunted Attraction leads with a four-story descent into madness, offering over a half-mile of indoor sets. Meanwhile, Ohio’s Factory of Terror in Canton celebrates 25 years of operation, pairing industrial-scale scares with a new Grimm Woods jack-o'-lantern walkthrough.

Michigan’s Niles Scream Park continues its tradition of reinvention across 44 acres, where the haunted mansion features over 100 potential paths. On the West Coast, The Haunted Trail of Balboa Park in San Diego utilizes its historic woodland setting to anchor a massive 3,500-square-foot maze. Finally, the Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride in Glen Mills, Pennsylvania, rounds out the list, leveraging three generations of family experience to build expansive, high-production sets that include a 40-foot-tall drive-through asylum. These locations prioritize a full night of entertainment, proving that the most effective haunts are those that treat fear as a refined, year-round discipline.
