The production aims to recreate the vibrant, undersea world of the Nickelodeon series within the ship’s Royal Theater. Christi Coachman, vice president of entertainment for Royal Caribbean, noted that the show was selected for its ability to bridge generational gaps through familiar characters and a narrative centered on friendship and resilience. The musical follows SpongeBob and his companions as they race to save their home from volcanic destruction, utilizing the cruise line's signature stage technology.
Beyond the theater, the ship—the fourth in the Icon Class—is designed as an expansive entertainment hub. Passengers will have access to eight distinct neighborhoods, including Category 6, the largest waterpark at sea, and the Ultimate Family Treehouse suite. The vessel will host 7-night itineraries across the Eastern and Western Caribbean, with scheduled stops at Perfect Day at CocoCay in The Bahamas, Cozumel, and St. Maarten.
