Bob Rich Shifts to Narrative Fiction with The Delphi Café

At a personal crossroads, an ordinary man named Socrates Smith finds himself at a mysterious diner, sparking a search for the true nature of fulfillment. This narrative pivot from author Bob Rich, arriving October 6, moves away from instructional prose to explore the friction between professional ambition and personal meaning.

Co-authored with Scott Friedman and Mike Pehanich, the novel serves as a reimagining of the concepts introduced in their previous work, Secrets from the Delphi Café. The story follows Smith as he encounters Sophie, a waitress whose insights challenge his perspective on the intersection of career, family, and purpose. By embedding these philosophical inquiries within the experiences of his characters, Rich aims to illustrate how unexpected encounters often reshape our life trajectories.

Rich, who serves as Senior Chairman of Rich Products Corporation, describes the work as an invitation for readers to examine their own definitions of happiness. Lifestyle journalist Elissa Rosen notes that the book encourages a pause for self-reflection, distinguishing it from the typical how-to format of the author’s earlier titles. The release marks a continued expansion of Rich’s literary catalog, which includes previous works such as Looking Through Water and a collection of stories centered on his experiences in business and the outdoors. Published by Forefront Books, the novel reflects the author's transition from non-fiction lessons to character-driven storytelling.
