Halfpricesoft Updates ezPaycheck to Cut SMB Payroll Overhead

Redmond-based Halfpricesoft.com has introduced new features for its ezPaycheck software, aiming to help small and mid-sized businesses bypass recurring subscription fees. By moving payroll and tax filing in-house, companies can now manage complex W-2 and 941 filings while avoiding the per-employee charges typical of cloud-based platforms.

The software functions as an all-in-one desktop solution, allowing employers to handle calculations, check printing, and tax compliance without external services. For a flat annual fee of $169, users gain access to automated tax form generation, including W-2, W-3, 940, and 941 documents. The system supports mid-year transitions by allowing the import of existing employee records and year-to-date earnings, ensuring businesses do not have to restart their accounting processes.

Founder Dr. Ge stated that the primary objective is to lower operational costs by streamlining the payroll lifecycle. Beyond basic calculations, the software includes pre-loaded federal, state, and local tax tables with free updates throughout the year. The platform also offers multi-business support, enabling users to manage payroll for multiple locations under a single license. Interested businesses can test the system through a 30-day free trial available on the company's website.
