Cognizant Launches Specialized AI Unit for Mid-Market Firms

Cognizant is launching a dedicated business unit, Cognizant Activate, designed to provide enterprise-grade artificial intelligence transformation to companies generating between $1 billion and $5 billion in annual revenue. The initiative aims to bypass traditional corporate complexity by offering pre-configured solution kits tailored for high-growth firms.

The new unit focuses on accelerating digital adoption for emerging enterprises in financial services, healthcare, manufacturing, and retail. Unlike standard enterprise engagements, Cognizant Activate utilizes vertically integrated teams and a single point of accountability to streamline deployment. By leveraging pre-built AI accelerators and compressed implementation timelines, the company aims to move beyond incremental consulting toward rapid, structural integration.

Chief Executive Officer Ravi Kumar S stated that these high-growth companies require partners who treat transformation as a core priority rather than a secondary roadmap item. The model integrates Cognizant’s global delivery network and platform certifications with financial structures suited to mid-market economics. According to Mohammad Haque, Global Head of Intelligent Enterprise Platforms, the strategy addresses a specific demand: accessing top-tier technical capability without the prohibitive friction typically associated with large-scale corporate service providers.
